Assistant Professor & Head of the Department
Department of Computer Science

Computer Science is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation, along with practical techniques for their implementation and application in computer systems. Computer Engineers design algorithmic processes to create, describe, and transform information while formulating abstractions to model complex systems effectively.

The discipline encompasses a wide array of sub-fields. Some, such as computational complexity theory, focus on the fundamental properties of computational problems, while others, like computer graphics. The Department focuses on visual computing and offers well-equipped labs, expert faculty, and modern infrastructure with advanced software tools.

Students are given extensive exposure to the rapidly evolving fields of both software and hardware. The department is equipped with the latest development tools and regularly undertakes industry and research-oriented projects, allowing students to gain practical experience and deepen their technical expertise.

We actively promote student engagement through platforms such as Code Chef, Hacker Rank and Hacker Earth, fostering a culture of problem-solving and competitive programming. Students are encouraged and mentored to appear for national and international competitive examinations such as GATE, CAT, GRE, among others, and to pursue higher studies in reputed institutions globally.

The department also emphasizes research and academic contributions by facilitating student publications in reputed journals.

In addition to academics, we are committed to nurturing the extra-curricular and co-curricular talents of our students, enabling them to earn recognition at state, national, and international levels. Students are inspired to participate in prestigious competitions like the Smart India Hackathon and are encouraged to enroll in initiatives such as the Skill India Mission, which enhance their employability and industry-readiness.
